Somm Smackdown: A Wine Dinner Showdown

Two Master Sommeliers. One unforgettable five-course dinner. And you get to decide who advances.

On September 24, Hotel Carmichael will host Round One of Somm Smackdown, a black-tie wine dinner featuring Master Sommeliers Emily Pickral and Larry O’Brien in a head-to-head pairing competition presented by Jackson Family Wines and Coury Hospitality.

Guests will enjoy a five-course menu created by Executive Chef Chris Coorts, inspired by Indiana ingredients, while tasting and comparing each sommelier’s wine pairings. At the end of the evening, guests vote to determine the winner and who moves on to the next round.

The evening includes:

• Five-course wine dinner
• Master Sommeliers Emily Pickral & Larry O’Brien
• Silent auction featuring exclusive experiences and items
• Emcee Matt Carroll
• Black-tie attire
• $200 per guest
• Doors open at 7 p.m.; dinner begins at 7:30 p.m.

Most importantly, all profits from the event and silent auction will benefit local first responders impacted by the floods, supporting the Carmel Police Department and Carmel Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 185.
