Mangia! is now open in Carmel City Center!
November 29, 2011
Locally owned since 1997, Mangia! is now open at Carmel City Center. A quiet and romantic restaurant specializing in northern Italian cuisine, it is open for lunch and dinner Monday through Friday and dinner on Saturdays. The menu at the new location will feature all the favorites from the original menu with a few new additions. In addition, Mangia! will be expanding their already well-matched and fairly priced wine list. The new locale at Carmel City Center also allows for highly attractive outdoor dining during warmer months.
When Lee Tyler purchased the restaurant from the Pizzi family eight years ago, he vowed to uphold the same tradition of excellence as the previous owners. He has kept the old northern Italian family recipes and even the original chef, Raul Tarango-Velasquez, remains at Mangia!.
“One of the best compliments I have received was when a couple who had been coming here since it was owned by the Pizzi family told me that the quality was still exceptional,” said Lee.
Lee is the face of the restaurant and he is there daily. To Lee, his customers are celebrities. Unlike many restaurants that display photos of famous people who may have stopped in once, Lee’s wall of fame features photos of his most regular customers to show his appreciation.
Lee is excited to be a part of Carmel City Center and to offer dining before and after events at The Center for the Performing Arts.
Mangia!’s new address is 751 Hanover Place, which is located on the south end of Phase One adjacent to Rangeline Road. Convenient parking can be found in the underground garage accessible from Rangeline Road. Follow directional signage to the Hanover elevator, which opens directly into Mangia!.
