Carmel City Center is gearing up for the 3rd year hosting Rollfast Gran Fondo, one of the top-rated cycling events in the United States. Set for Sunday, September 17, Rollfast is a bicycle competition for everyone. The event is established in three different distances, so you can register for whatever mileage you choose. There are 25-mile, 65-mile and 100-mile options. The race will start at 8:00 AM on Rangeline Road, in front of Carmel City Center.
The course is flat and fast, which is ideal for young, or new riders, but also for seasoned cyclists looking for personal-record times. Because the course has been so amenable, the Sub4 Challenge was created in 2015. Additional prizes and recognition go to finishers of the 100-mile event who cross the finish line in under 4 hours, as well as for Sub5 finishers, a new addition for 2017. Also new for 2017: added neutral moto support and a live video stream from the front pack of competitors.
From elite cyclists to families biking together, this event has something for all levels. At 10:00 AM the festival begins, with food stations and an Upland beer garden open for race participants. At 11:00 AM the award presentations begin for Sub4 and Sub5 finishers, as well as for top finishers in each distance.
