Spring Beauty Trends at Pure Concepts Salon
February 4, 2015
With spring just around the corner, everyone is looking to refresh their look for the new season. Still need ideas to uplift your beauty routine? Jackie Burns, owner of Pure Concepts Salon, offers some insight on what will be trending in hair and makeup this spring.
Spring Makeover Tips by Jackie Burns
1. Natural & Pastel Makeup
This season, spring makeup is all about looking natural with soft pastel colors and dewy bronzed skin. Keep the eye shadows soft and subtle with a bold, bright lip. If bright lips aren’t your thing, try adding shades of purple or brown eye shadows with a light glossy lip.
2. Trimmed Tresses
The long bob is definitely taking over. It’s a very versatile haircut for those of you who don’t want too short or too long of hair. Shoulder length, textured tresses are in. Try your long bob with barely there bohemian waves. We recommend Aveda Pure Abundance Style Prep on wet or dry hair to expand the hair and give a fuller, messier look.
3. Bountiful Curls
Not ready to give up that long hair yet? Big, sleek bouncy curls are the way to go for long tresses. A great style for second day hair is a high or low simple ponytail, add a messy braid or a twist on the side to give it some interest. We love Aveda’s Air Control hairspray for a light, textured hold.
4. Cooler Color & Soft Golds
For hair color, we are noticing cooler colors and muted gold tones. The infamous ombré is still in, but try it with a few face framing highlights that aren’t too different from your base color so it grows out very soft.
