More Than 140 Characters – Anne O’Brien, The Center for the Performing Arts
March 9, 2012
Butler Graduate and lover of the arts, The Center for the Performing Arts Sales & Marketing Manager Anne O’Brien feels that she never has a dull day.
“Since working at the Center for the Performing Arts I have experienced so many things. My day is always filled with something new and I have had the opportunity to meet so many amazing people,” said Anne.
Growing up in a house with a music teacher, there was no escaping the fact that Anne would be surrounded by the sounds of music every day. Although playing the piano and violin since she was a toddler, Anne decided that her love for music wouldn’t lead to a professional career and found herself working towards a degree in Arts Administration.
While in school, Anne jumped at the opportunity to study abroad in London for a semester. Getting to travel all over Europe and to take in all the unique, diverse cultures set the stage for O’Brien’s love for diversity in her life.
Working at the center has given her just that.
“I love the center because of how the arts and culture aspect bring everyone together,” said Anne. “The diversity of all the people that come to the center is absolutely amazing to experience.”
With work and hobbies sometimes coinciding with one another, Anne gets the best of both worlds every day.
