Indy Coffee Association – 2nd Annual Barista Jam
April 24, 2013
On Sunday, May 5, 2013 the Indy Coffee Association will be holding its second annual Barista Jam from 12-5 p.m. at Carmel City Center. The Barista Jam will feature 18-20 booths to educate the public on all aspects of specialty coffee. The entire event is free and open to the public of all ages.
Attendees of the Barista Jam will be able to interact with Baristas, roasters, pastry vendors and many other professionals who work or support the specialty coffee industry. Education and fun are the two goals of the event. There will be demonstrations of various coffee brewing techniques taking place throughout the event including pour over coffee, siphon pot and single brew coffee.
Hubbard & Cravens is holding a coffee cupping (i.e. coffee tasting) at their location in Carmel City Center as part of the event. The Barista Jam concludes with a latte art throw down starting at 4 p.m. in which the area’s best Baristas will compete over who can make the best latte. The community is encouraged to attend to take in the education and enjoy many free samples. The Barista Jam is sponsored by Carmel City Center, Fairlight Bakery and Rip Van Waffles.
